Introduction
In this Qbon Spotlight, we visit El Kiosko Boricua, a food truck located in Kissimmee, Florida (📍 3601 S Orange Blossom Trail, Kissimmee, FL), where the authentic flavors of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 are cooked over charcoal. This family-run project has become a gathering place for those who love lechón, charcoal-grilled chicken, and traditional root vegetables made with care and tradition.
Business Story of El Kiosko Boricua
El Kiosko Boricua is the dream turned reality of Héctor Félix Rosado and Angely Alvarado, a hardworking couple who have been serving traditional Puerto Rican food for about a year and a half. Héctor arrived in Orlando working as a welder, and thanks to that skill, he built the ovens and smokers that are now the heart of the business with his own hands.

The inspiration comes from his grandparents, Don Félix Rosado and Lucía Santos, who in Orocovis, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 supported their entire family by selling charcoal-roasted lechón. Today, that legacy continues in Florida, bringing the spirit of the countryside, jíbaro culture 🇵🇷, and traditional lechón flavors to the Boricua community in Kissimmee.

The Experience
Eating here feels like reconnecting with the Puerto Rican countryside 🇵🇷. It’s the flavor of the farm, backyard fire pits, burning wood, and hardworking hands that represent the jíbaro essence of Puerto Rico.
Visiting El Kiosko Boricua feels like stepping into a family patio back on the island. The smell of wood smoke, the sound of charcoal, and the warm family atmosphere create an authentic experience. The meats, sweet potatoes, and sausages are cooked over charcoal, respecting the traditional process that gives them their distinctive flavor.
Featured Dishes
During our visit, we tried two of their most representative dishes:
El Boricua complete plate that includes rice with pigeon peas, charcoal-roasted lechón, charcoal-grilled chicken, sweet potato, and smoked blood sausage.
Batata SupremeA baked sweet potato filled with charcoal-grilled chicken and lechón, topped with Angely’s special mojo, melted cheese, and fresh cilantro.
The blood sausages and longaniza are smoked in-house, and the root vegetables are cooked directly over charcoal.
