Pioco’s Chicken, the Puerto Rican-owned restaurant known for its juicy rotisserie chicken and homemade mofongo, is spreading its wings with a new flagship location. Owners Miguel Fontanez Sr. and Miguel Fontanez Jr. are already halfway through building what will be the restaurant’s largest and most ambitious project, strategically located at 5160 Boggy Creek Road in the Lake Nona area, a rapidly growing corridor in Osceola County.

Don Miguel, who ran his businesses from Puerto Rico, moved to Florida in 1996. In 2000, he opened his first Pioco’s in Buena Ventura Lakes, where he worked as chef and brought Puerto Rican flavors to the heart of Kissimmee. In 2007, he opened his second location in Osceola, and nearly two decades later, he continues to deliver consistent Latin cuisine, focusing on Puerto Rican and Caribbean dishes.

Known for its flavorful roasted chicken, generous portions, and authentic boricua seasoning 🇵🇷, Pioco’s Chicken has built a loyal customer base, becoming the go-to spot for those seeking comforting food that tastes like home.

The new flagship will bring that same flavor and warmth to a larger, more modern space, with capacity to welcome more guests. The surrounding area is undergoing major infrastructure improvements, including the widening of Boggy Creek Road, setting the stage for Pioco’s to become a key culinary destination in this thriving part of Central Florida.

With God’s help, the opening is planned for late 2026 or early 2027. In the meantime, fans can continue visiting the original Pioco’s Chicken to enjoy Puerto Rican-style rotisserie chicken, crispy tostones, and generous side dishes. As Don Miguel says: “The chicken you’ve been asking for all these years is on the way! Thank you for your support.”

This expansion is not just a new location—it’s proof of how far a local family restaurant can go when driven by flavor, community, and pride.
